Late April 2026, Sacramento. The studio is in three modes at once. Most days I'm shepherding Simbi through a long-overdue platform refresh — Wave 4 just landed on staging (Ruby 3.2, Rails 6.1, Elasticsearch 7, Vue 2) after sitting on a decade-old stack since the pandemic. Production cutover is the next gate.
In parallel I am building this — Minuscule Ventures, the public face of the work. The site is the tip of a larger iceberg: a private workshop of agent harnesses, plugin-porting tools, and migration pipelines that will surface here as each piece earns its presentation. The discipline is to hold them back until they do.
Reading
Robin Sloan's MOSS letters; David Heinemeier Hansson's small-tech polemics; the Solid manifesto; old issues of the Whole Earth Catalog (rereading); Richard Powers' Bewilderment on the side.
Practicing
Ultimate frisbee at Berkeley masters and Sac mixed. Hot springs as default vacation. Trying to hike one new ridge a month while my knees still cooperate.
Open to
Conversations with mission-driven founders who suspect their stack is holding them back; nonprofits whose technology is older than their staff; product operators who want to think out loud about AI-augmented teams. Email is the door.
